We’ve been having some seriously beautiful weather here in the bay area. I’ve been wanting to visit Sausalito, CA for quite some time and I finally got the chance to do so earlier this week! $11 and a thirty-minute ferry ride later, I found myself in this beautiful seaside village.
Sausalito is a small (we’re talking two main streets), quiet, and extremely charming city nestled in Marin county just over the Golden Gate Bridge. It is easily reachable by ferry, which in my opinion is the most beautiful way to make the voyage and a wonderful way to see the bay. The ferry ride includes views of the Port of San Francisco, the Bay Bridge, Alcatraz Island, the Golden Gate, and is ranked among the top in the world. Crossing the San Francisco Bay on a sunny afternoon to spend a few quiet hours to myself in the getaway that is Sausalito was exactly what I needed to reset after a busy last several months with no days off! If any of you are ever in the area and decide to make the trip yourself (ferry tickets are for purchase online or at the ferry terminal), be sure to stop amongst the many shops in the Ferry Building to grab a coffee from Blue Bottle or maybe some fresh sourdough before hopping on to make it a real San Francisco experience.
Below I’ve included a photo diary of my trip to Sausalito for you all to browse. I hope you enjoy the inspiration on this Monday, wherever you are!
